Press release -
Online tax week for new and growing businesses
For the first time businesses are being offered interactive support with their tax affairs by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).
A week long Twitter Q&A session will give SMEs and those considering setting up a business the opportunity to ask tax-related questions.
HMRC will be on hand to offer help and support on a wide range of issues, including keeping records, VAT registration, National Insurance, starting up a limited company and PAYE Real Time Information.
The starting in business week will take place between 25 February and 1 March. To take part or ask a question, follow @HMRCgovuk on Twitter and use hashtag #biztaxhelp.
David Gauke, Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury, said:
“Small businesses and start-ups are the life blood of the economy. HMRC is dedicated to reducing the burden on small businesses and making the tax system simpler, more efficient and fairer. This interactive week will offer support and help to new and growing businesses in an innovative way.“
